Romy on Innovattic

As a UI designer at Innovattic, I mainly design interfaces, such as apps and websites. My approach is unique, because I always include my background in psychology in my designs. Both unconsciously and consciously, I put the user first. It should not only look good, but it should also work really well. And I think it’s that which just always makes it a little bit better.

Flexible thinking

Usually, prior to a project, I think together with the customer about the problem we need to solve. I make sketches of that, and sometimes we also test it in advance. Later we will convert it into a visual design and then a visual team will actually build it. I remain involved during the project, so that I can also design or adjust something in between where necessary. This way we prevent situations where everything’s already been worked out in advance and you’re stuck because you can no longer change anything. We work very flexibly in that respect, which works well for both the customer and us.

Wisbits: my first project

The project that’s stuck with me the most is Wisbits. Wisbits is an e-learning tool where you can create and do bite-sized learning. I really liked that project, because first of all the customer was very enthusiastic, and it was a new project which we were starting from scratch. It was also one of my first projects, so I also got to know my team well. I noticed that there was a nice ‘click’, and we’ve also created a really nice application.

Innovattic's approach

Our approach works well because Innovattic is very open-minded, and thinks along with the customer. We have a professional team of developers and designers who try to create a beautiful project — and we really work together. I think that's what makes Innovattic special.
